VAT Relief for Disabled People​

If you’re disabled or have a long-term illness, you will not be charged VAT on products designed or adapted for your own personal or domestic use. Also, you will not be charged VAT on:

  • The installation and any extra work needed as part of this
  • Repairs or maintenance
  • Spare parts or accessories

Qualifying Products or Services

Your supplier can tell you, but usually products designed or adapted for a disability qualify. For example, certain types of:

  • Adjustable Beds
  • Stairlifts
  • Wheelchairs
  • Medical Appliances
  • Alarms
  • Braille paper or low vision aids

How do I Apply for VAT Relief?

We’ve made the process of VAT Relief incredibly simple. 

During the checkout stage of your purchase, you will be greeted with an option to declare your VAT status. 

Simply tick the box stating ‘Disability VAT Exemption‘, include the name of the person in which is VAT exempt and then add in you reason for VAT Relief (for example, limited mobility).

Any added VAT will now be removed from the total price.
